Sherry Banbury's Obituary
Sherry Banbury, age 60 of Elyria, formerly of Lorain passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Huntington Woods Health & Rehab Center, Westlake after a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 23, 1952 in Lorain, Ohio to Clarence V. and Carrie M. (nee Orwick) Maurer. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1972 and later went on to further her education at Lorain Community College. She graduated in 1991 with an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
She made her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Cambridge Nursing, working at Murray Ridge Group Home. She also did home health care. Sherry really enjoyed taking care of children that were recovering from transplants.
Sherry enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, sewing and shopping. She loved her job and found much fulfillment working with the mentally handicapped. Being with her family and reminiscing brought her much joy.
She is survived by her daughter, Cari Banbury, of Elyria; her sisters, Carol DeLeonardis, of Lorain, Ellie Kopronica, of Lorain, Marian Diveley, of South Bend, IN, Janet Mamrak, of Elyria and Barbara Miller, of Lorain; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence V. and Carrie M. Maurer and her brother William Maurer.
The Banbury family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 1:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Matt Jones, of Broadway Assembly, will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
