Shirley Potts' Obituary
Shirley Ann Potts (nee Kelling), age 82 a resident of Amherst Manor for the past 3 years, passed away peacefully March 27, 2013. "Pottsie" as she was well known and loved by all will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Shirley was born on June 1, 1930 and was a sibling to seven brothers making her the tough cookie she had to be. She lived most of her life in Lorain County. She worked as a team cook for Amherst Manor Nursing Home and after her retirement she made Amherst Manor her home.
She always enjoyed a good football game and jigsaw puzzle and never refused an extra bowl of ice cream. Most importantly, she had a gift to gab that made her special, even to her roommate Sixta.
Shirley is survived by her children, Sandra Wood, of Lorain, Patricia (Pete) Richard,(caregiver), of Amherst, Judith (Rick) Schwedt, of BrookPark, Alfred Lassen Jr., of Zanesville and James Potts Jr.; brothers, Wayne Kelling, of Mayfield Hts., Joseph (Alberta) Blazina, of North Carolina and Gerald Blazina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Kelling; mother, Helen Blazina (nee Prentiss); step-father, Joseph Blazina; brothers, Ralph Tate, Robert Kelling, James Blazina and George Blazina.
Private family funeral services will be held. Online condolences may be left for the Potts family at www.dovinreberjones.com
