Shirley Thompson's Obituary
Shirley Mae Thompson (nee Edmonson), age 82, of Elyria, passed away Monday February 8, 2010 at Elyria Memorial Hospital. She was born in Somerset, Pennsylvania on July 5, 1927 to Donald and Ada Edmonson.
Shirley was a parishioner of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Elyria. She enjoyed reading, arranging flowers and decorating. Her main passion was her family.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ernest Thompson; her son James and his wife Diane Thompson of Moon Twp., Massachusetts; her daughter, Deanna Thompson, of Pasedena, Maryland; son-in-law, Nick Ammadio; granddaughter, Terry, of Massachusetts; ; grandson, James and his wife Monica, of Massachusetts; two great-grandchildren, Kayln and Michael; sister, Mary Lou Rosey, of Elyria; brothers, Donald Edmonson, of Lorain and Tom Edmonson of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Ammadio; sister, Glada Walter; brothers David, Bill and Ronald Edmonson; parents, Don and Ada (nee O'Baker) Edmonson.
The Thompson family will receive friends on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 3-7 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Road, Elyria. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
