Sophia Anna Langer, 56, of South Amherst, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on January 21,
2026, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born on November 2, 1969 in Amherst, Ohio, to the late William and Olga (née Krause) Mitchell.
A lifelong member of the community, Sophia built a life rooted in hard work, family, and simple joys. Sophia dedicated 34 years of loyal service to Ford Motor Company, where she worked as a GRC Representative. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built over the years. She was also a proud member of the VFW and the Eagles in Amherst, finding great camaraderie through those organizations. At heart, Sophia embraced a true homestead spirit. She found joy in cooking and baking for others, sewing, crafting, gardening, canning, and caring for animals. Nothing meant more to her than being surrounded by family, and she especially treasured gatherings that brought everyone together.
She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother to her daughter, Ariel Langer (Alex Theis); a cherished life partner to Jerry Biddinger; and a dear sister to Tim Mitchell (Richie), Bobby Mitchell (Sun Jung), and Dave Mitchell (Jackie). Sophia was also a beloved niece and cousin to many, all of whom will miss her deeply.
