Stephanie Belcher's Obituary
Stephanie K. Belcher, 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital. She was born on January 8, 1954, in Amherst, Ohio, to Anthony M. and Amanda E. (née Whitaker) Horinek, Sr.
Stephanie lived a life centered on faith, compassion, and perseverance. Throughout her working years, she held a variety of positions, including as a dispatcher, a nursing assistant at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, and cleaning homes for others. No matter the job, she approached it with dedication and a caring heart. She also generously volunteered her time with the American Red Cross, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures. Stephanie enjoyed spirited games of UNO, playing bingo, and expressing her creativity through cake decorating. She also had a gift for writing poetry, using her words to reflect her thoughts and emotions. Above all, her faith was the foundation of her life. She had a deep devotion to God, and prayer was a constant source of strength and comfort throughout her life.
Stephanie was strong-willed and determined, never one to give up in the face of adversity. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her sister, Ellen Mead; her niece and nephews; Nicole M. Deptowicz, Arthur D. Mead II, Anthony Horinek Jr., William Dean Horinek II, Charles Horinek, and Joseph Horinek; cousins Rebecca Whitaker-Seman, Ellie Whitaker-Seman, Bobbie Smith, and Kimberly Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Jerry Belcher, in 2014; parents, Anthony M. and Amanda E. Horinek; brothers, Anthony M. Horinek Jr., and William Horinek,
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, where funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 5:00 p.m. Services will be officiated by Rev. Corrine Torres. Interment will be private for the family at a later date at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
