Stephen Koski's Obituary
Stephen O. Koski, 69, of Avon Lake, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at his residence following a one month illness.
Born June 10, 1942 in Crosby, Minnesota, to the late William and Mary (nee Saari) Koski, he moved to Lorain in 1961. He served in the US Army from 1958 to 1961.
Stephen worked for Ford Motor Company at the Lorain plant and retired from the Avon Lake plant in 2006 after 43 years of service.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 2000, the Knights of St. John, the Moose Lodge and the Masons.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, riding his motorcycle, boating, fishing and swimming.
Surviving is his son, Jeff (Gwen) of Avon Lake; daughters, Cathy (Kenneth) Kirkman of Staley, N.C., and Cindy Cogar of Avon Lake; 10 grandchildren and twin great granddaughters on their way; a sister, Kathy (Lee) Futhey of Aitkin, Minn.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife, Judi (nee Bodnar) Koski in 2002; a brother, Robert; and a sister Shirley Rose.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 7th from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Floral arrangements are being handled by Off Broadway Floral & Gifts, 380 North Ridge Rd., Lorain.
