Steve J. Toth's Obituary
Steve J. Toth age 92, passed away November 4, 2021, after a brief illness. Steve was born in Lorain, Ohio July 19, 1929, to John N. and Juliana Toth.
He worked at Thew Shovel and retired from U.S. Steel Lake Terminal Railroad after 34 years of service. After retiring, he and his wife Sally moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. They enjoyed going to the beach and working in their yard planting trees and flowers.
After his wife passed away in 2009, he made his home with his daughter and son in law in Weatherford, TX. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, weightlifting, and traveling. He also just enjoyed sitting on the porch on a sunny day. He loved to watch westerns on TV, and he also liked the Three Stooges.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sally (nee Meck); brothers, Francis and John; sisters, Helen Dudnikoff and Julie Holley; and grandson Frank Cassity (2020).
He is survived by brother, Albert, of TN; daughters, Pamela( Mel) Gregg, of OH, Monica (John) Hollohazy, of TX; son, Steven A. (Joan) Toth, of NY; grandchildren, Aaron Cassity, Brian and Kevin Williamson; and 4 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, or the Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Father Neil Walters will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
