Steven "Sonny" Csubak's Obituary
Steven A. “Sonny” Csubak, age 86, of Lorain passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at New Life Hospice.
He was born on January 27, 1930 in Newark, Ohio to Steve and Stephanie Csubak and graduated from Newark Catholic High School. Steven served his country with the United States Air Force.
Sonny made his career as a carpenter and retired as a custodian from Southview High School. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain, the Italian American Veterans Home and the American Slovak Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling on casino trips and especially visiting with his family in Parrish, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rosemarie (nee Kiska); his son, Jeff (Nancy), of Parrish, Florida; grandchildren, Lauren and Andrew; brother, Robert, of Newark, OH, and many nieces and nephews.
The Csubak family will receive friends on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio . Closing prayer will be held on Monday, May 9th. At 10:30 a.m. in the funeral center followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Military Honors will be conducted by the Amherst Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Sonny to a charity of your choice.
