Steven D. Sexton's Obituary
Steven D. Sexton, 60, resident of Elyria, Ohio and born in Amherst, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 9, 2023 surrounded by his family.
He is survived by wife Dana Sexton (née Glyder), sons David Lee Sexton and Joshua Dale Sexton, daughters Bridget Hodge and Brooke Hodge, granddaughter Rilee Sexton, parents David Sexton (Rita) and Linda Aumiller (Dave), sister Lisa Phillips (Curtis), and many nephews and a niece, as well as his beloved dogs, cats, and grand pups.
Steve had a lifelong love of classic cars and racing. He spent countless weekends at the Lorain and Sandusky Speedways, where he was Crew Chief of S&S Racing and owner of the 45 and 51s sprint car driven by his son Joshua. Steve loved music and spending time getting his hands dirty in the garage. He was a 34 year employee of Ford Motor Company.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 14th, from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral home, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, Ohio 44001. His funeral will be on Friday, also at the funeral center, at 11:00 am and will be officiated by Rev. Jim Cooper. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
