Susan G. Metz's Obituary
Susan G. Metz, age 72, passed away peacefully at Mercy New Life Hospice on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024. Born in Lorain in 1951 to Allen G. and Alice R. (nee Copper) Metz, Susan lived a life dedicated to service, education, and her community.
A 1969 graduate of Lorain High School, Susan furthered her education at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. With a passion for animal care, she went on to own and operate her own practice, the Premier Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic, where she cared for so many pets and served her community with compassion and expertise.
Susan was a member of the Church of the Redeemer and enjoyed quilting and reading in her spare time. Her professional affiliations included the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, where she contributed to the advancement of veterinary medicine.
Susan's dedication to her profession and her kind, caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and commitment to both her human and animal friends.
She is survived by her brother, Frederick (Patricia) Metz, of Vermilion, her niece, Amanda Metz, of New York City, NY, and her very close friend and co-worker, Melissa Erickson, of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents.
