Terry Dale Hall's Obituary
Terry Dale Hall was born prematurely at 7 months on June 29, 1947. He was the second of three children born to William and Doris Hall who resided in Amherst, Ohio. He attended Amherst schools graduating from Marion L. Steele High in 1965. As an Amherst Comet, he excelled in both baseball and football and took great pride in his accomplishments. He graduated from Oberlin Business College and married his high school sweetheart Marie Gargasz on October 8, 1966.
Terry and Marie moved to Florence Township in Erie County and raised their children Michelle (Eric) Wyers, Kathleen (Rob) Zvara, Matthew (Michelle) Hall, and Molly (Nathan) Antill. The family hobby soon became horses and developed into Chappel Creek Farm where he loved working beside his wife and family. The farm was made complete by his four legged friends, his dogs, cats, horses and goats. He became a 4-H advisor for the Bits and Spurs in Erie County and the Mavericks in Lorain County. He also was a Northern Ohio Quarter Horse Association director.
He was employed by General Motors working in Elyria and Sandusky as a payroll auditor until his retirement. After retiring from GM he did contract work for Delphi and KBI in Sandusky and also worked in sales at Spitzer Motors in Amherst.
Terry loved Cleveland's teams and followed both the Indians and Browns. He loved collecting sports memorabilia and autographs. His greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren compete in school sports in both the Firelands and Western Reserve school district.
He loved the company of family, working on his wooded property, trail riding, biking, flea markets, garage sales and collectibles, Scrabble, 50's music and old cowboy movies. He passed away (again prematurely) in his home peacefully at 8:13 on December 20, 2015, a beautiful Sunday morning.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marie (Gargasz) Hall, his four children, 10 grandchildren, brother William Hall, sister Debra Philips, loving brother and sister-in laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father William Hall Sr. and mother Doris (Pruzek) Hall.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 27th from 2 to 4 at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, Ohio. A memorial service will follow the visitation.
