Thelma Vanover's Obituary
Thelma G. Vanover, age 75, of Lorain passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.
She was born on December 3, 1937 in Haysi, Virginia to Virgil and Allafair (nee Stanford) Turner. She graduated from Haysi High School in 1955.
Thelma loved going to casinos, playing bingo and sitting on her front porch with friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her son; Charles David (Suzanne) Vanover, of Lorain; daughters, Regena Lynn Vanover, of Wakeman and Michelle Homler, of Lorain; grandchildren, Mandy Walters, Eric Walters, Ashley Nibert, Dylan Nibert and Logan Homler; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronny Turner, of Virginia; sisters, Loretta Viers, of Virginia, Jane Edwards, of Michigan and June Deel, of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Allafair Turner; and her sister, Patricia Yates.
The Vanover family will receive friends on Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 1:00- 3:30 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral center. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
