Thomas J. Conley's Obituary
Thomas J. Conley, age 86, of Sheffield Lake, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake, OH.
He was born on March 9, 1935 in Lorain, where he lived most of his life, and is a graduate of St. Mary High School as well. Tom and his wife, JoAnn, moved to Sheffield Lake 25 years ago where he has resided since. He loved living on the lake.
He was employed with the Ford Motor Company, where he retired from after 30 years there. After retirement though, is when he was able to return to his passion for being a carpenter. He so proudly built the home that he raised his family in, but when returning to carpentry after retirement, he enjoyed building outdoor and lawn furniture. Tom was an avid golfer as well, even having notoriety in the newspaper for his hole-in-one. Most of all, his greatest love was his family, especially his beloved grandkids and great grandkids. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Sheffield Lake, and former member of St. Peter Church in Lorain.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, JoAnn T. (nee Rositano), children, Jennifer (Rich) Deufel, of Sheffield Lake, Jill (Kyle) Robinson, of Sheffield Lake, Janice (Dane) Lester, of Winnemucca, NV, and Joseph (Tinamarie) Conley, of Westlake, grandchildren, Nick & Brian Pawlak, Patrick Heilman, Shawn & Alex Robinson, Crystal Morton, Ryan Lester, Samantha Cariglio, Thomas & Joseph Conley, and James Andress, great grandchildren, Max and Jackson Pawlak, Dominic, Penelope, and Chole Cariglio, Jaiden Parsons, Cash and Khloe Lester, Karyn and Makenzie Morton, and a sister, Eileen Conley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Helen (nee Walsh) Conley, grandson, Martin Pawlak, great granddaughter, Ruby Robinson, a brother, Jerry, and sisters, Kathleen and Maurita.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 pm, at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001.
