Tim R. Starr's Obituary
Tim R. Starr, age 72, of Collins, passed away at home, in his sleep, on Thursday, January 23, 2014.
He was born on September 24, 1941 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Tim and Golden Starr. He grew up there and then later resided in Vermilion before moving to Collins about 25 years ago.
Tim worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years in the Lorain plant, retiring in 1989. Following his retirement, he worked at Ferrellgas in Norwalk for many years.
Tim was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lorain. He enjoyed watching sports, hunting and spending time in the country.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy (nee Koltas); his sons, Timothy “TJ” and Richard “Ricky”; his daughters, Darla Carter and Dawndra Starr; his grandchildren; his brothers, Louis “Jack” and Dan; and his sister, Dolores Stephens.
Besides his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard and Robert and his sisters, Irene Boyd and Norma Wehr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Rev. Jimmy Madsen, Pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
