Ursula M. Moore's Obituary
Ursula M. “Ulla” Moore (nee Grabmayer), age 82, of Amherst, passed away at Amherst Manor, after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
She was born on December 31, 1938 in Rybnik, Germany. After she got married to her beloved husband, Oren, they moved to the states in 1970, where they made Lansing, MI their home. Then, in 1990, they moved to Amherst, where they have lived ever since. Ulla attended school in Germany and even graduated with what is equivalent in the states as an associate’s degree. Among other jobs, she most proudly worked for Pan Am as a ground hostess, for the US Army as a translator & interpreter, and later, for the Ingham County Probate Court. Ulla was an avid reader, and really enjoyed traveling whenever she could. That’s one of the reasons she liked her job at Pan Am so much. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing and creating things with the craft, as well as gardening, especially tending to her rose bushes.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Basil “Oren”, her children; Stephen (Kelly) Moore, of Walled Lake, MI, Brian (Marj) Moore, of New Hartford, NY, and Jori (Kent) Coster, of Midland, MI, 1 granddaughter, a niece, Yvonne Golle and a nephew, Uwe Kilian, both of Frankfurt, Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Franz and Agnes (nee Roskosch) Grabmayer, and her two sisters; Irmgard Hoderlein and Brigitte Kilian.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 18th, from 4:00 pm until the time of her funeral service at 7:00 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH.
