Viola Stavole's Obituary
Viola V. Stavole (nee Campbell), age 77, a resident of Amherst for the past 33 years, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010 at The Renaissance Hospice Care Center in Olmsted Twp.
Viola was born on October 31, 1932 in Nashville, Ohio to the late Forest and Esther (nee Spencer) Campbell. She graduated from Lakeville High School, Lakeville, Ohio in 1950. After high school graduation she attended the College of Wooster Conservatory of Music for a year transferring to Ashland University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Education from Kent State University.
She was employed by the Berea City Schools and the Lorain City Schools. She retired in 1994 from the Lorain City Schools after 34 years of service. Viola was an accomplished pianist and violinist. She enjoyed reading, traveling and music.
Viola is survived by her husband of 46 years, Michael; sons, Joseph of Amherst Twp., and Jonathan of Minneapolis, MN; a daughter, Jill (Shane) Karnes of Marysville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jarrett, Tristan and Riley Karnes; brother, Vaughn (Elaine) Campbell of Amherst; sister, Vivian (Alex) Nagy of Ashland.
The Stavole family will receive family and friends on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Avon.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made in memory of Viola to Hospice of the Western Reserve Contributions, 300 E. 185th. St. Cleveland, Ohio 44119.
