Virginia Zadekas' Obituary
Virginia "Ginger" Zadekas (nee Kucia), age 69, a lifelong resident of Lorain, passed away suddenly, on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Community Health Partners.
Ginger was born on May 28, 1940 in Lorain, Ohio to John and Coletta (nee Winter) Kucia. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1958.
She was employed for the past 30 years as a medical assistant at the office of Dr. Daniel C. Duffy, DPM, in Lorain, Ohio.
She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain. She loved animals and has had several pets over the years. She enjoyed going to casino's. Ginger was a very giving and generous woman, especially to her family. She would help anyone.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Zadekas, of Lorain; brother, Donald Kucia, of Oberlin; sisters, Patricia Kiskin, of Avon, Karol Kucia, of Lorain, Ruth (John) Bradley, of Wellington and June Kucia, of Waterloo, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Zadekas in 2003 and her parents, John and Coletta (nee Winter) Kucia.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Prk Rd., Amherst, where services will be held on Friday January 15th. at 8:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
