Freddy,
Man, I still can’t believe you’re gone.
We met back in 7th grade at Skate World, and from then on we were damn near inseparable. Every Friday and Saturday night we’d skate the wheels off those skates, trying our best to talk to girls and thinking we had life all figured out.
Then came our teenage years. We’d be riding around in that black Nissan with those little 13-inch rims, the system turned all the way up, still chasing girls and just enjoying life. We didn’t have much, but we had a lot of good times.
In our 20s, we’d jump in the Contour and head to the Beach Club in Cleveland, driving way too fast with the music blasting. Looking back, we probably did a lot of dumb stuff, but I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.
There are way too many stories to tell. I could sit here for days talking about everything we did together. Through all those years, one thing never changed—you were a real friend. You always had my back, and I hope you knew I always had yours.
Bro, I know you’re up there watching over all of us. You’re probably already making moves, making people laugh, and finding a way to hustle like you always did.
When you get a chance, tell them to play “My Homeboy’s Girlfriend” by 8Ball & MJG. Every time I hear that song, it’ll remind me of you and all the memories we made.
Love you, brother. Rest easy. This isn’t goodbye—it’s just see you later.
