Wiliam J. Paul's Obituary
William J Paul passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Kingston of Vermillion after a brief illness. He is dancing again with his beloved wife Helen who passed away 5 days earlier. He was born in Lorain, Ohio, and resided there his entire life. Bill graduated from St Mary High School in Lorain after having attended St. Cyril and Methodius Church grade school. It was at St. Mary’s High School where he met Helen, the love of his life. They were married 69 years.
Bill retired in 1986 from U.S. Steel as an electrical and mechanical supervisor after 39 years. He was also a self-employed electrical contractor. After retirement, he served as an engineering consultant for USS/Kobe retiring from that position in 1995. But his favorite job was being a husband, father, and grandfather. He served as a Naval Reservist for 5 years. Bill was a member of St Mary Church in Lorain, Lorain Senior Fellowship, and Lorain Historical Society. He was a Cleveland Browns fan and avid follower of the Indianapolis 500 and all Indy car races, attending many of them with Helen and members of his family. He loved traveling and dancing with his sweetheart Helen. Our family will cherish all the memories we have made together.
Survivors include son Dennis Paul (Mary) of New Berlin, Wisconsin; daughters, Barbara Pepon (George) of Lorain, Linda Lombari (David) of Lorain, Janet Mossbarger (Douglas) of Dayton, Diana Miller (Bill) of Lorain; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, sisiter Justine Leonard (nee Paul), and many nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his wife Helen Paul (nee Majer), parents Frank and Justina (nee Cerar) Paul, brother Ladislaus (Laddie) Paul, and sister Maryann Bach (nee Paul).
The family would like to graciously thank New Life Hospice nurse Andrea, aides, and all caregivers at Kingston of Vermillion during his stay.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Church, Lorain, Ohio, followed by private interment. Funeral Arrangements’ are under the care of Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center. A memorial “Celebration of Life” will be announced at a later date.
