William Bentley's Obituary
William Bentley, age 61 of Lorain passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at his home after a long illness.
He was born on July 7, 1954 in Fleming Neon, Kentucky. He moved to Lorain in 1973 where he met his soul mate. He began working for B.F.I. in 1978 as a truck driver and retired in 1999 after 21 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time playing with his grandsons. He enjoyed life to the fullest and left many happy memories for everyone who knew him.
William will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Betty (nee Blackburn); daughter, Jeniffer (Michael) Gantz, of Elyria; grandsons, Adam, Izayah, and Noah Nichols; brothers, Ralph (Lisa) Adams, of TN and James Bentley, of VA; brothers-in-law, Bill (Sandy) Blackburn, of Lakewood, Michael (Julie) Blackburn, of Lorain and Boyd Blackburn, of Lorain; sister-in-law, Barbara (Scott) Snyder-Sandt; and many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Dye; brothers, Roger and Randall Bentley; grandmother, Lula Cantrill; aunts, Dorothy, June and Phillis; father-in-law, Lon Blackburn; and his mother-in-law, Ellen Smith.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1st. at 11:00 a.m. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
