William John “Jack” “Doc” Broz, 70, of Lorain, OH, passed away Monday March 9, 2020 at University Hospitals, Elyria Medical Center. He was born May 5, 1949, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain, OH to William J Broz, Sr and Mildred Lynn Read Obituary
Doc was a neighbor of my Aunt and Uncle for many years, a fantastic person to know. Eventually I had the ability to interact with Doc in while attending Steele, again an amazing influence to be around.
As a former Sailor, a Navy Doc is everyone's best friend. Im truly saddened I didn't catch his obit in time to attend his funeral. Rest easy Doc, we have the watch.
I will always remember him as a wonderful librarian at Amherst Steele. May he Rest In Peace in heaven.
I lost track of Jack after the close of St. Joes. Holding a similar position in
Elyria we had the opportunity to work together on many joint hospital projects. Jack always went all-in on such projects and was a most enjoyable person to work with. I was thoroughly amazed by his obituary in yesterday’s chronicle. Jack never mentioned his many achievements which I realize was part of his character, a modest, hard working gentleman. Rest In Peace Jack and my sincere sympathy to his family.

I am so saddened by the news of Jack’s passing. In my many years of working with him at St Joe’s, so many thoughts run through my mind: his kindness, always calm & patient, subtle humor, encouragement, generosity in sharing his knowledge (caught the photography bug from Jack!), and so much more . I’ll always be thankful for his impact on my life. RIP Jack My heart goes out to his family.
My heartfelt sympathy to Jack’s family. I knew Jack in our Heidelberg days; always a calm soul and dry witted. He wrote a wonderful piece in the school paper, The Kilikalik (sp?) about the play that James Lee Austin directed Shaw’s “St. Joan” and I played Joan. His article was kind, well-thought-out and fun (thank you!) to read. Jack will be remembered and will bring a smile at his thought.
Sorry to hear of the loss of Jack, who was always very helpful in coming up with nice supplementary materials to help the substitutes at Amherst Schools. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
