William Pettyjohn Jr.'s Obituary
William Pettyjohn Jr., age 70 passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.
He was born on July 21, 1950 in Charleroi, PA to Willie and Ella Mae Pettyjohn Sr. and graduated from Belle Vernon Area High School.
William retired from Ford Motor Company in 2007 after 31 years of service. He owned numerous rental properties.
He had a strong work ethic and everything he did he did was done with passion and perfection. William was a talented craftsman and cabinet maker. He also enjoyed working on cars. William was pretty much a jack of all trades.
William is survived by his children, Willie Pettyjohn Jr., of Lorain, Ginette Pettyjohn, of North Carolina, Anthony Pettyjohn Sr., of Pennsylvania, and Valerie Pettyjohn, of Lorain; step-children, Sara Williamson, of Lorain, and Russell (Rachelle) Looman; 13 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; father, William Pettyjohn Sr.; brother David Pettyjohn; sisters, Gloria Minnie,Catherine Clark, Rosemary Larkin, and Jacqueline Washington.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Mae Pettyjohn.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the funeral home will be following specific guidelines to ensure the safety of all visitors. We ask that you enter through our main entrance of the funeral center, please pay your respects to the family, and exit through our gathering center door. Face coverings are required, limited seating will be provided for the service to ensure that a six feet separation is maintained. Private family funeral service and interment will take place at a later date.
