  • Restoring Hope: When a Loved One Dies From an Overdose

    adults who have had a loved one die from
    an overdose death. Registration is required.

April Events

  • Hospice of the Western Reserve holding volunteer classes in Lorain
    Tuesday, April 2, 2019 : 6:00 PM
    Hospice of the Western Reserve is seeking volunteers to assist in private residences, nursing homes, assisted living communities, its three Hospice House locations, and hospital settings. 

    The next series of volunteer classes will be held at Hospice of the Western Reserve, 2173 North Ridge Road East in Lorain, on April 2, 4, 9 and 11, from 6 to 9 p.m.


    Non-clinical volunteers attend only the first three hours on April 2, while most other volunteers attend all classes.

  • Kids Art: Memory Boxes
    Tuesday, April 30, 2019 : 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
    These Memory Boxes are inspired by artist
    Joseph Cornell’s boxes of assembled artifacts.
    Participants will line a wooden cigar box with
    photos, fabric or paper and assemble small
    mementoes and objects inside it such as keys,
    marbles, jewelry, natural objects, thimbles,
    buttons, coins, and any other meaningful items
    that remind you of your loved one(s). Ages 6+.
    Kids are invited to bring family members along
    for this workshop. Light refreshments provided.

  • Memories of Us
    Tuesday, May 7, 2019 : 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
    Remember catching fireflies in a jar as a kid?
    It may be one of the memories you have of
    you and your loved one. In this workshop,
    participants will decorate a jar and write down
    those memories on colored strips of paper to
    fill the jar. A string of LED lights will add a
    glow of warmth to your jar of memories.
