Allan R. Claus' Obituary
Allan R. Claus, 71, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, at Ganzhorn Suites in Avon. He was born on November 3, 1953, in Elyria to Robert B. and Lois J. (nee Struebe) Claus.
A 1972 graduate of North Ridgeville High School, Allan dedicated over 40 years of his life to working at U.S. Steel as a rolling mill crane operator, from which he eventually retired.
Allan found great joy in attending services at the Cathedral of Life Church in North Ridgeville. In his younger years he was an active member of the Boy Scouts. Later in life, he was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon, where he provided support and camaraderie to many.
In his leisure time, Allan cherished his cats and had a passion for traveling, golf, and trips to Las Vegas & Alaska. He also loved spending time outdoors and nurturing his garden.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Ashley (Rayshawn) Carlisle, Brittany Claus, Jack Claus, Jeffrey (Rebekah) Hooper, and Michelle Hooper; great nephews and great nieces, Rayana, Arya, Sage, Malachi, Hunter, Henry, Cade and Danni; and siblings, David Claus, of Elyria, Linda Claus, of Elyria and Brenda Hooper, of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Patricia Claus, brother, Richard Claus and brother-in-law, Charles Hooper.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14th, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH. Services will be officiated by Rev. Mike Payne, Pastor of Cathedral of Life Church will officiate. Interment will follow his funeral service at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
