Barbara Ellen Keathley's Obituary
Barbara Ellen Keathley (nee Hamilton), age 75, of Elyria, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home, Avon, Ohio.
She was born on March 23, 1942 in Teaberry, Kentucky to Chester E. and Opal (nee Johnson) Hamilton. Barbara married the love of her life, Emery U. Keathley on December 28, 1959.
Barbara enjoyed singing and cooking. Her greatest joy through life came from her time spent with her friends and family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Connie (Gene) Slone, of Lorain, Rodney (Anita) Keathley, of LaGrange, and Gregory (Pamela) Keathley, of Canal Winchester, and his 4 adoring grandchildren; Amanda Keathley, Zechariah Keathley, Nicole Slone, and Hannah Keathley, her siblings; Joyce (Bob) Coleman, of Grethel, KY, Helen (Estill) Hamilton, of Albion, MI, Randall (Vicy) Hamilton, of Columbus, OH, and Amos (Darlene) Hamilton, of Mosherville, MI.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Emery Ugene Keathley, on July 27, 2017, a granddaughter, Rachel Keathley, and siblings; Nora Hamilton, Aaron Hamilton, Ishmul Hamilton, Daniel Hamilton.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 17, from 2 – 6 pm in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Her funeral service will be on Monday, December 18, at 11:00 am at Pleasant View Old Regular Baptist Church, 3589 Beat Road, Litchfield, Ohio 44253. Pastor Larry Newsome will be officiating. Burial will follow in River Road Cemetery, LaGrange.
