Bruce Lyle's Obituary
Bruce Allen Lyle, born September 28, 1952, in Oberlin, Ohio, died on January 11, 2012.
A 1971 graduate of Marion L. Steel High School, he served 7 years in the US Navy as a nuclear electrician on the USS Stinson out of Charleston, SC. He graduated in 1983 from Bowling Green State University with a degree in computer science.
He had lived in Boston, MA, and Pittsburgh, PA, before settling again in northeast Ohio. A gifted artist, voracious reader and avid science fiction fan, he also wrote two novels.
He leaves behind his beloved mother, Doris (nee Vermillion); sisters, Elizabeth Brown (James), Suzanne Simpson (Michael), Melissa Lyle (David), and Sam Lyle-Medwid (Scott); nephews, J. Lyle Brown and Ryan Simpson, and nieces Minga Brown, Sophia Simpson (Ryan Reichart), Adrianna Prayzer (Jacob), Karen and Gena Reynolds, and Clara and Glenna Medwid.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard E. ("Gene") Lyle, in 2011.
Private inurnment with Military Honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
