My very first memory of a wedding was your BEAUTIFUL, GLOWING-from -the-inside-out Mom and most handsome Dad’s . I think I was 5 years old. She was truly like an angel and I will never forget how she paused to give a beaming smile goodbye to us kids on the stairs of the Slovak Club, as he whisked her off to their honeymoon... what a vision... like a movie star ... and I thought how lucky all us kids were, (the seven of us, plus countless other cousins) to be there, to be a part of that love story...
My sister Maureen, 10 at the time, handed your Mom a little statue of “Mary” right then... your Mom never forgot that and always reminded us of how special that was to her(!)
We continued to be a part of that love story, as they always opened their hearts and home to host the BIG BUTCHKO FAMILY Reunion for so many wonderful years. What a blessing for all of us to know each other and stay connected because of that hospitality.
Your Mom’s heart of gold, sweet smile, darling lilting laugh and china doll beauty, will remain fixed in my memory, forever. She was so full of love and life. I am sorry these last years have been so tough on her and all of you... we know she is free now and dancing with her handsome husband once again.
