I delivered the Morning Journal to Mr. Windmiller for over 16 years.
I did not see him often due to the early hours I was delivering, but when I did he was always sure to tell me what a wonderful person I was and what a great job I was doing.
He was one of the nicest customers I ever had and it was a delight being his newspaper carrier.
My sincerest belated condolences to his family and friends.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of Mr. Windmiller. It was always a pleasure to talk with him and to print his excellent letters in The Morning Journal. His editorial voice will be missed.
Don was a great friend to the community of Amherst and a very learned letter writer. He was one of my pest supporters when I was on Council in Amherst, and was also a very dedicated Grandfather.
I know him as "Uncle Cloid". I have great memories from shared vacations both east and west and several summertime and holiday visits. Always had a kind word to say and wonderful for a political discussion now and then. Great fan of Bobby Knight and Indiana University basketball. Fun on the golf course too. God Bless you "Don" and comfort your family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Mr Windmiller was my softball coach for the Pacers, back in the 1970's. He was a sweet kind man with alot of patience. I'll never forget what a great coach he was, and I'm sure the rest of the team members will have fond members of him as well.
