Constance "Connie" DeLong's Obituary
Constance H. “Connie” DeLong (nee Hostler), age 82, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2017.
Connie was born on August 18, 1934 in Ashland. She graduated from Ashland University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. With her degree, she began her career as a teacher, which she proudly did for over 30 years. Throughout her career, she taught in the Lorain, South Amherst, and Firelands School Districts.
She will be dearly missed by her son, Mark C. (Shannon) DeLong, of Winter Garden, FL and her daughter, Lisa D. (Richard) Bartels, of Galena, OH. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Martha Hostler, and nephews; Douglas and Donald Hostler.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce C., a brother, Ronald, and her parents; Earl and Elizabeth (nee Yeater) Hostler.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions, in her memory, be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
