First of all my sincerest condolences to the entire Hans family. Growing up on the other end of Lorain's G St I had the pleasure of finally meeting Don in the Longfellow Jr. High's 7'12's. Our friendship continued to grow throughout our Lorain High School years and carried on into young adult hood until life's paths took us into different directions. However those 6-8 years left me with some of the best memories of my life. Don was an exceptional athlete and whether it was playing sports, racing cars, or just hanging out dinking beer etc. i have always and will always cherish. RIP my old friend.

It's difficult to express in words the loss of Donny. His aptitude for current events, history and music seemed at times to be boundless. He was never at a loss for words and always made us smile. We will miss his presence at our frequent music gatherings at Rockin-on-the-River. Our deepest condolences to you Diane and know our prayers for you and your family are being sent your way. First I would like to share how kind Donny was. I met him when I was young, immature and stupid. Through it all , he was patient with me and always offered me support. I don’t think I’ve ever met a more dedicated Browns/indians fan in my life. We talked about sports constantly and watched COUNTLESS games together. He could have easily been a radio announcer or statistician if he chose that route in life. Above all, there was one thing that he always did that I loved him most for: Being kind and loving to my mother.
