To the family of Doris Mihalo,
What a beautiful person to have known....I had the pleasure of doing her hair at Emerald Village while she lived there. I really enjoyed her company and stories of her family and friends. She certainly thought the world of her family!
May you all find the strength you need in this challenging time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

As I prepare for today's ceremony for mom, I was reading the posts and thought I would name just a few of the "names" my mom was often referred to as:
Gertrude (my dad used to call her that)
Aunti Doris (many cousins on both mahilo and grondin would call her that)
Aunt Doris (Val this was your often used phrase with her)
Duckey or Ducki (this was what Aunt Della and other grondins called her)
Ma (my wife would always call her that - this was my naming as well)
Granny (her grandkids often referred to her by that)
The Boss (I think Uncle John used to call her that during tense times in fun)
My point here is that in remembering all of these names brings back many enjoyable and lasting memories of my mom and the impact she had on everyone. Thanks for the many kind thoughts that everyone has shared. As many of you have said, she is now reunited with her ever lasting wish...to be with Dad.
ps mom....remember Dad cheats in pinocle!! Susie says so.
Dear Dave and Sue,
Toni and I would like to express our sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. May all your memories stay forever in your heart.
You and your family are in our prayers.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Mike and Toni
I offer my sympathy and prayers for Mrs. Mahilo and her family.
I remember as a little girl getting sick in school. Since my parents weren't home, they called Aunt Doris to come pick me up. I had so much fun at her house I didn't want to go home! I remember her letting me help make cole slaw and Uncle John playing pool with me downstairs listening to Hey Jude. She made the best cole slaw ever! She had the ability to make you forget anything that was bothering you and make you laugh. Both her and Uncle John had that gift. I will remember you always Aunt Doris...tell everyone up there we miss them and look forward to the day we see them again!

I will forever remember all the talks we had, ecspecially the ones we had about my mom. How we both missed her and dad so much. Well, now you all are reunited and probabaly playing cards and Uncle John is saying something funny. He always made us laugh! Thanks for all the memories! You will forever be in our hearts.
P.S. I remember you always made the best brownies.
I remember playing at grandma & grandpa's house as a small child. We would play games in the basement, play on the organ in the front room, take walks out in the garden, run through the sprinkler in the back yard and of course play lots of cards (especially UNO).
Grandma always made sure that the children had fun at her house and the pantry and refrigerator was always stocked with our favorite treats.
Thank you for the wonderful memories.
Give grandpa a big hug for me. I miss you both.
May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless.
My greatest memories of being a child include spending almost every holiday over Aunt Doris's and Uncle John's with all the Grondin side of the family. Always plenty of fun, food and family love. Unfortunately, as we get older we go our own way and only see the people we loved so much in our younger years are at times like this. The love never goes away just time . At least I will have all the great memories and know that Uncle John and Aunt Doris are together once again. I will always remember the great love they had for each other and all of their family.
God bless you. You are now in a better place.
Love - Your niece - Ann Marie Amador (Grondin)
