Gary E. Malott's Obituary
Gary E. Malott, age 75, of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Good Shepherd Hospital, in Ashland, OH.
He was born on March 31, 1945 in Cleveland. He moved to Elyria in the early 1990’s and then finally moved to Lorain in 1994. He was a self-employed pattern maker for local foundries.
Gary served his country during the Vietnam War while enlisted in the United States Army from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. While serving, he was part of the 573rd Battalion Floatbridge Company. Gary was a Mason and served as a Worshipful Master for the Bedford, OH Lodge #375. He was also a member of the Cleveland VFW and Lorain’s American Legion Post #30. Gary enjoyed boating, fishing, and skiing. He also happened to be a loyal front-row Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Denise (nee Statford), his sons; Collin (Donna) Malott and Brandon (Renaee) Malott, his daughter, Noelle Malott, and his beautiful grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Craig, Nick, and Lily.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Edwin and Rita (nee Huber) Malott, and his sisters; Donna and Carolyn “Chipper.”
The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:30 am until the time of his memorial services at 10:00 am, on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 10:00 am, at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the funeral home will be following specific guidelines to ensure the safety of all visitors. We ask that you enter through our main entrance of the funeral center, please pay your respects to the family, and exit through our gathering center door. Face coverings are required, limited seating will be provided for the service to ensure that a six feet separation is maintained.
