Jim and I, and my family go back 47 years, Jim and his fellow marine buddies were stationed at El Toro marine base in California. My mother and grandmother picked him and a friend up when they were hitch hiking on the base, come to find out we were all from Vermillion. We spent so many weekends hanging out while he was stationed there, such good times. Jim has stayed in touch with us all along and he was such a good friend to me. Out of the blue, he would send pictures of my dad's grave showing how he trimmed the bushes and placed flowers at his grave. That meant so much to me. He was the kindest, sweetest person, that would help everyone. He will be missed dearly. Deepest condolences to Pat and family.
