James G. Sosinski's Obituary
James G. Sosinski, age 69, of Amherst passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Elmcroft of Lorain after a lengthy illness.
He was born on July 14, 1947 in Lorain, Ohio to Eugene and Evelyn (nee Hartley) Sosinski and graduated from Admiral King High in 1965.
James enlisted with the United States Army National Guard on April 4, 1967 in Lorain, Ohio and was honorably discharged on April 3, 1976. He made his career with the United States Postal Service for 42 years, starting as a Letter Carrier in Lorain, moving to the position of Supervisor and retiring in 2008 as a Postmaster for the Wellington Post Office.
He was a member of the Bachelors Club. James enjoyed bowling, playing golf, cars, drag racing, and of course karaoke. He found the most pleasure in the time he spent with his family, especially his granddaughters.
James is survived by his son, James (Brandi) Sosinski, of Virginia; daughter, Angela Sosinski, of Amherst; granddaughters, Hailey and Alivia ;brother, Marvin (Delma) Sosinski; sister, Nancee (John) Rodriquez; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dennise Sosinski; parents Eugene and Evelyn Sosinski; and his sister-in-law, Debbie Grasso.
The Sosinski family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30th. at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral center. Chaplain Mark Telepac, of Cross Roads Hospice will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
