John Todd Upton's Obituary
John Todd Upton, passed away May 7, 2023 at the age of 56 after his courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
He was a lifelong resident of Sheffield Lake and graduated from Brookside High School in 1986. Where he met his wife of 29 years, Theresa or as he’d say TW. He raised two sons that he literally adored and would give everything for. His grandchildren were his whole life. He enjoyed snack time with them.
He always carried a larger-than-life personality. He had a HEART OF GOLD and would literally give his shirt off his back to anyone in need. Todd enjoyed not only coaching his sons in various sports over the years but playing them as well as watching. He loved baseball; The Cleveland Indians was his team. Watching games with him felt as if you were literally in the stadium, as he had the TV turned up to the max. He enjoyed the Cleveland Browns as well.
Todd retired after 30 years at Ford Motor Avon Lake Assembly Plant and met all kinds of people who became friends.
There was nothing Todd wouldn’t say or do, he kept his emotions on his shirt sleeve. Todd was loved by so many people. He never missed an opportunity to talk with a stranger.
When Todd was not watching or coaching sports, he enjoyed time with his family whether it be fishing, going on vacation, cooking out, having a fire, doing his loops, or even letting his beautiful voice jam in some karaoke.
He leaves behind wife Theresa (Weber), sons, Zachary and his wife Krystal (Bentley), Nicholas and Joanna (Ramirez); grandchildren; Isaiah, Jaxon, Madison and Mason as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally; and brothers, Larry and Mark; and his sister, Debbie.
In lieu of flowers please bring a new children’s toy to the funeral center, the family will be donating the toys in his memory to children in need.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Closing prayers and memory sharing will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m.
