Not only did Kathy take care of my "Nuno" Dan Pournaras during his last days on earth, she made him her friend. One thing Danny liked more then life itself was making new friends. No other caregiver in Danny's 6 nursing home stops gave him anywhere near the love, attention and care that Kathy provided. I went to visit him every day, and every day he mentioned how great Kathy is. I'm no expert, but I think knowing that you are loved is the most important thing during your last few breaths.
My Deepest Sympathy to the Curran family.
My condolences to Kathy's family. Many years ago, I played softball with Kathy and bowled at Shoreway Lanes in the same league. What I remember most about her was how friendly she was and what a fun person she was. She had a wonderful smile and great laugh too! As a nurse myself for over 40 years now, I also remember when she told me she was going to become a nurse. I immediately thought what a wonderful nurse she would be and how lucky her patients would be to have her care for them. I hadn't seen Kathy for a few years and I was saddened to read of her passing. To her family, cherish your memories and know that she is smiling down on you from heaven as your special angel.
My thoughts are with the family during their time of great loss of a truly special person.
Kathy, you will be missed terribly! You are by far the strongest person I have ever known. You came to work , did your job and never once complained of how sick you felt. Your sarcasm got me through many days at work. Your sense of humor made me laugh so hard there were times I thought i'd pee my pants. When I began at westbay, I was a new grad and you whipped me into shape, and I thank you for that. You are and always will be a good friend. and hold a special place in my heart. I only wish I would have gotten to see you one last time. I hope you are free of pain now and in peace., and eating all the junk food you want up there in heaven and I cant yell at you. take care until we meet again. Love cindy kukich
I think of what a hero she was during her illness. She kept that great smile and laughed as though nothing was wrong. She put up a good fight as only Kathy would do. May she now rest in peace and watch over her family from heaven.
