I first met Kenn in Scandia, PA. He would come up to my Father-in-law’s rental cabin at Christmas time and share in their Christmas gatherings. We became friends when after he retired, he moved to Scandia. He and I would sit and sip whiskey and talk about everything and anything and have a few more toddies. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in PA
When he moved back to Ohio, he included me in his yearly conference chartered fishing trips with his friends on Lake Erie and that’s what started our closer friendship. I enjoyed cooking and he enjoyed eating good food, so that’s how I became the cook on our fishing trips each year. He always wanted everyone to enjoy the trip and the camaraderie, it was not important if we caught fish, but we did. That was what was important to him, people talking and listening to each other and having fun. He has a great and loyal band of friends, and I am glad I was a part of that group. We would get together once in a while and have lunch or dinner, go to a ball game. We will dedicated this coming years Pekar conference in memory of him. You are a free bird now!!! I worked with Kenn many years ago in high school and recall him as an outgoing and fun-to-be-with person with dedication to completing any task he was given. I lost track of him thought of him often. My condolences and prayers are with him.

I first met Kenn many years ago as a client. He was demanding, but always fair—and it didn’t take long to realize that his word was his bond. What began as a professional relationship grew into a true personal friendship, built on trust and mutual respect.
Kenn believed in doing things the right way. He was straightforward, thoughtful, and deeply principled. He valued honesty above all else, and once you earned his trust, you had it completely.
Some of my favorite memories with Kenn were the simple ones—our conversations over lunch, especially our lunch at the University Inn, which will not be forgotten. Those moments captured who Kenn was: sincere, engaging, and appreciative of good company and meaningful conversation.
Kenn will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His fairness, loyalty, and strength of character left a lasting impression, and his memory will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.

Kenn and I started out in a business relationship, but quickly became best friends. We traveled many times to my favorite place in Canada, Kississing Lake where he caught many trophy fish. That iconic shot of him on the rock was taken there. He and I caught 14 marlin in one day in Cabo San Lucas, and we fished almost every year in Lake Erie and had so many wonderful days together. I called him last Wednesday for his birthday and left a message on his cell phone. He never called back and I learned today of his passing. So sad to lose a friend like Kenn. Truly a one-of-a-kind GREAT FRIEND. He'll be missed.
