Kenneth R Pekar's Obituary
Kenneth Pekar, 78, of Vermilion, Ohio passed away on December 15, 2025. Born on December 10, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio, Kenn graduated from West Tech High School. For two years, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was awarded two Purple Hearts.
He retired from Eaton Corporation in Cleveland in 2002. Since 2009, he has made Vermilion his home. Kenn truly enjoyed all aspects of fishing, primarily on Lake Erie, and traveled within and outside the US to pursue his favorite pastime. He also enjoyed hunting, especially bow hunting and shooting sports.
He is survived by his sister Pat and her husband Wyatt; his ‘adopted’ daughter Diane Skirkanic (affectionately known as “Munchkin”) and her husband Scott; nephew Craig Pekar; niece Raylene Herkamp and her husband John; great-nephews Isaac and Eli; and great-niece Violet; and his truly dear friend Darlene (Stan) Zaharewicz.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Pauline, and his brother Robert.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 4-6 PM with a service at 6 PM at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. Interment with military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia on a date to be determined.
