Lucas John Del Valle's Obituary
Lucas John Del Valle, age 51, of Amherst passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 after being involved in a car accident while traveling with his family to attend a wedding.
He was born on June 16, 1963 in Lorain, Ohio to Jose T. and Carmen (Nee Arroyo) Del Valle and graduated from Southview High School in 1981. Upon his high school graduation he went on to further his education at Kent State University, graduating in 1985 with a degree in Public Relations.
Lucas was employed as a pharmaceutical sales representative for the past 14 years. He was currently working for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceutical Company.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. He served as President of the Southview Legacy and coached CYO basketball and several baseball teams.
Lucas enjoyed exercising at the YMCA, rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland professional sports teams, photography and brewing beer.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sharon (nee Corman) Del Valle; sons, Jake, of Columbus, Vince, of East Lansing, MI and Nico, of Columbus; daughters, Sophia and Emma of Amherst; brother, Jose Del Valle, of Lorain; and sisters, Maria Sanchez, of Lorain, Carmen Rademaker, of Strongsville, Nora Young, of Peoria, IL, Milagros Greggila, of Oak Harbor, and Ana Seidel, of Avon Lake.
Lucas was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Carmen Del Valle.
The Del Valle family will receive friends on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. Rev. Fr. Michael Denk, will officiate. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Lucas to the Southview Legacy, PO Box 1184 Lorain, OH 44055.
