Margaret A. Kernohan's Obituary
Margaret “Peggy” Kernohan (née Bisgrove), age 71, entered peacefully into eternal life on November 20, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness. Peggy will be remembered for her kind heart, strong faith, and the love she shared so freely with her family, friends, and all who knew her.
She was born on May 8, 1954, in Lorain, Ohio. Peggy graduated from Southview High School in 1973 and went on to study cosmetology, graduating from the Northern Institute of Cosmetology in Lorain.
After receiving her cosmetology license, she worked for several beauty salons throughout Lorain County. She retired in 2022 after many years of dedicated service.
Margaret was an active member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also involved in breast cancer support programs throughout Lorain County, offering encouragement and compassion to others.
Peggy enjoyed theatre, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Her warmth, gentle spirit, and joyful presence will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her brothers, Michael (Joann) Bisgrove of Vermilion and Thomas (Cynthia) Bisgrove of Lorain; and her nieces, Erin Bisgrove and Ashley Bisgrove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jack Kernohan; her parents, Charles and JoAnn (née Walsh) Bisgrove; and her brother, Rev. Father Charles Bisgrove, SCJ.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Father Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate.
Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
