Maureen J. Walsh's Obituary
Maureen J. Walsh, age 72, of Lorain, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born on October 25, 1941 in Bellevue, PA to James Sterrett and Virginia May (nee Doernberger) Patton and was a 1959 graduate of Bellevue High School.
Maureen retired as an administrative assistant with the Lorain County Labor Agency and was a member of the Lorain County Board of Education.
She loved being a coach’s wife, mom and grandma. She loved her pets. She was a devoted fan to all of her husband’s basketball teams. Maureen took great pride not only in her husband but all the players as well.
Maureen is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert; son, R. Michael (Kristin), of Grafton; daughter, Kristen( Michael) Piedmonte, of Lorain; grandchildren, Michael and Mickenzie Piedmonte and Ryan, Maeve and Liam Walsh; and her brother, James (Monica) Patton, of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, LB Walsh; and her parents, James and Virginia Patton.
The Walsh family will receive friends on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where funeral services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Father Donald Dunson, Pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Elyria, will officiate. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
