Michael Scott Daniels' Obituary
Michael Scott Daniels, 56, of Amherst, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly in Lake County, Illinois on July 24, 2025. He was born on November 21, 1968, in Amherst, Ohio.
Michael was the beloved husband of Wendy (née Shildwachter) Daniels of 26 years and the proud father of Samuel Moore (Stephanie), Michael Daniels, and Maxwell Daniels. He was a devoted grandfather to Sophie, Skylar, and Scarlett. Michael was the cherished son of Jacqueline (née Zocchi) Urban (Nicholas) and the late Johnny Daniels (Kim), and loving brother of Jason (Lena) Daniels and Brian Daniels.
A 1987 graduate of Admiral King High School, Michael went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training from Wilmington College, followed by a Master’s Degree in Sports Management and Education from Ohio University. He was currently serving as a task force officer for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Michael was known for his dedication to his career, being a devoted family man, and most recently enjoying time on the greens, golfing with his wife. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 11 AM until the time of service at 3 PM at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, OH 44001. A Memorial Night Golf will be held on Saturday, August 16tth at 8 PM at Whiskyville Golf Club, 9488 Leavitt Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Michael’s honor to the Arthritis Foundation to support the fight against juvenile arthritis at www.arthritis.org.
