Michael Patrick Mawson's Obituary
Michael Patrick Mawson, age 53, of Lorain, passed away on August 13, 2019.
Born on March 13, 1966 in Bay Village, Michael grew up in Sheffield Lake where he graduated from Brookside High School in 1984. He married his high school sweetheart, Janine. Mike and Janine began their married life together in Sheffield Village and later moved to Brownhelm Township and then Lorain, where their son, Alexander was born.
After earning his Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from Baldwin Wallace University, he started his career as a Probation Officer for Lorain County. Michael began working for the Adult Parole Authority in 1992 as a Parole Officer. He took great pride in his work and served for 23 years.
Mike was also a member of the Amherst Eagles.
Michael will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 27 years, Janine M. (nee Dobos) Mawson and his treasured son, Alexander M. Mawson.
Also mourning the loss of Michael will be his mother, Stephanie (nee Miller) Mawson and his brothers; Timothy (Lynn) Mawson, Terrance Joseph Jr. Mawson, Adam (Casey) Mawson, and David (Stephanie) Mawson.
He was proceeded in death by his father Terrance Mawson Sr.
To honor Mike and his admiration of nature, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 20th, 2019, at Mill Hollow- Bacon Woods Park in Vermilion. The service will begin promptly at 2:00 pm in the amphitheater.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to his wife so a collective memorial contribution may be made to the Lorain County Metro Parks in honor of Michael.
