Michael Schue's Obituary
Michael Schue, 73, of Amherst, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, doing what he loved most, fishing in his peaceful, happy place at the Amherst Outdoor Life Association.
Born September 7, 1951, in Lorain, Ohio, to James and Mercedes (née Kempt) Schue, Michael was a 1970 graduate of Lorain High School. He worked as a Stationary Engineer for Ohio Edison and Republic Steel, retiring in 2010.
A member of Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Lorain, Michael found joy in the outdoors—whether golfing, fishing, or simply watching squirrels and the beauty of nature. He shared his love of fishing with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will live on for generations. Known for his kind spirit, kids and animals were naturally drawn to him.
Family was the heart of Michael’s life, especially his beloved wife, Deborah (nee Szabo) whom he affectionately referred to as “Babe” with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed trips to Disney World, countless fishing adventures, and spontaneous family gatherings filled with laughter and love.
Michael is survived by his wife, Deborah; children, Rebecca (Timothy Boyd) Schue of Murfreesboro, TN, Amanda (Tony) Berrios of Lorain, Michael J.
