Michael Ward's Obituary
Michael "Mickey" Ward, age 69, of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at The Cleveland Clinic following a recent heart surgery.
Born on March 10, 1943 in Lorain, Mickey lived his entire life there. He graduated from St. Mary's High School, Lorain, in 1961.
He worked at US Steel as a boilermaker, retiring from there with 30 years of service.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially to warm climate places during the Ohio winter months. He loved to play golf and was an avid Notre Dame Football fan.
Mickey is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Sherry (nee Simsic) his son, Brett Ward, of Bellvue, Ohio; his daughters, Kellie Foster, of Oberlin and Amanda Kreft, of Delaware, Ohio; and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Kathleen (nee McKenzie) Ward and his brother, Dennis.
The Ward Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 13th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral center. Fr. James Becherer will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
