Mildred I. Auvil's Obituary
Mildred I. Auvil (nee Rowan), age 98, of Lorain, passed away after a short illness on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain.
Mildred was born on March 27, 1926, in Mabie, West Virginia, to Eslie and Minerva (nee Fox) Rowan. She was a long-time resident of Lorain and retired from Invacare after more than 20 years of dedicated service.
A member of the Church of Open Door, Mildred’s life revolved around her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them and found great joy in their presence.
Mildred was also a passionate sports fan, particularly of the Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland Cavaliers, and she enjoyed following her teams through the highs and lows.
Her warm heart, loving nature, and devotion to family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mildred's legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication to her loved ones will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty (William) Posey; grandchildren, Michelle (Craig) Grove & Michael Posey; great grandchildren, Brandon Posey, Emma Posey, Megan Morrison, Makenzie Grove, Kristen Grove & Piper Posey; great great grandchildren, Ellie & Sammy Posey; and her siblings, Mary Cross, Darwood (Marie) Rowan & Donald (Wilma) Rowan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her siblings, Delmas, Darrell, Dorsey, Dallas, Juanita, Rosie & Bonnie; and her parents.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February3rd, 2025, from 2:00 pm until the time of her funeral service at 2:30 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
