Richard Rhodes' Obituary
Richard A. Rhodes, age 50, of Amherst, passed away Saturday July 3, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic after a strong fight against cancer.
He was born on January 21, 1960 in Lorain, Ohio to Carl and Ruth Marie Rhodes Sr. He was a 1978 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School.
Richard was the owner of Olympic Edge, a consulting company based out of Seattle, WA that specialized in business banking solutions. He took much pride in his work and devoted long hours to make it a success.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and shooting pool.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Maureen (nee Mahony); son, Ricky, of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky; daughter, Holly, of Amherst; father, Carl Rhodes Sr., of Summerfield, FL, ; brothers, Carl Joseph (Joyce) Rhodes, of Springfield, OH, Robert Edward Rhodes, of Niceville, FL, Michael John (Jennifer) Rhodes, of Elyria, OH and William Gerald “Billy” (Erica), of Texas; sisters, Rebecca Marie (Ron) Mijal, of Hatley,WI, Catherine Ann Rhodes, of Cleveland, OH, Susan Ellen (Russ) MacNeal, of Grafton, OH, Nell Elizabeth (Don) Larsen, of Grafton, OH, Margaret Mary”Peggy” Torgerson, of Amherst, Oh and Ruth Elaine “Laney” (Joseph) Kaviak, of Lakewood, OH; mother-in-law, Phyllis Mahony, of Amherst, OH.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Marie Rhodes (nee Johnson) and his father-in-law, James Mahony.
The Rhodes family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Private services will be held at a later date.
