Robert "Bob" Moss' Obituary
Robert "Bob" Russell Moss, a resident of Amherst, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the age of 80, at Mercy New Life Hospice after bravely battling a prolonged illness.
Bob found immense joy in the serenity of the waters, cherishing moments spent boating, fishing, and exploring the depths through scuba diving. His commitment to water safety and education was evident through his role as the Past Commander of the Vermilion Power Squadron, where he devoted over 40 years teaching safe boating classes, imparting knowledge, and ensuring the well-being of fellow enthusiasts.
Beyond his maritime pursuits, Bob served as the dedicated Scoutmaster of Troop 427 in Amherst, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of numerous young individuals through guidance, mentorship, and instilling the values of leadership and camaraderie.
His professional journey spanned 41 years at General Motors, showcasing unwavering commitment and dedication in his work.
Bob's enduring love story was shared with his cherished wife of 59 years, Judy (nee Stone). He is survived by his children, Sarah, Chad (Barb), and Tiffany, and leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, and unwavering support.
He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by his grandchildren, Katrina (Bill), Nick (Alie), Michael, Maria, Justin, Ellie, and Emma, as well as his great-grandchildren, Emaleigh, Audrey, Charlotte, Sophia, Reid, Jay, Mara, and Camillia.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Tim (Sarah), and his parents, Gilbert and Amelia, and his sister, Dorothy. He leaves behind siblings Gilbert (Joan), Sharon (Bruce), Tom, and Irma (Herb), who will continue to honor his memory.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, to pay their respects and share cherished memories.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made in memory of Bob to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
