Sheri Ivancic Haponek's Obituary
Sheri Ivancic Haponek, age 64, of Vermilion passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at University Hospital, in Cleveland.
She was born on November 5, 1956, in Lorain, Ohio to Thomas B. and Irma (nee Tomak) Ivancic. Sheri was a 1975 graduate of Lorain Catholic High School and then went on to continue her education earning an associate degree in Dental Hygiene.
Sheri worked as a Dental Hygienist for 27 years at numerous dental offices. She was a member of the Vermilion City Council, Vermilion in Bloom, Charter Review Board, and the Vermilion Lighthouse Preservation Committee.
She loved traveling, gardening, staying active and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas B. Ivancic, mother, Irma (nee Tomak) Ivancic and her mother-in-law, Doris (nee Reber) Haponek.
Sheri is survived by her husband of 42 years, David Haponek; sons, Kevin Haponek, of Phoenix, AZ, and Chad (Brittney) Haponek, of Amherst; grandchildren, Parker and Cruz Haponek; mother, Alexandria Ivancic; siblings; Karen (Robert) Ivancic Pekare, and Thomas M. (Kimberly) Ivancic; and her father-in-law, Emil Haponek.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral center.
