Stanley Bansek's Obituary
Stanley J. Bansek, age 93, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, at Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
He was born on August 16, 1916 in Wilkes Barre, PA, but lived most of his life in the Lorain area. He also lived in Florida for 20 years. Stanley served during World War II, in the United States Army Air Corp, from 1941 until 1945, earning the Asiatic-Pacific Medal and the American Defense Ribbon. He was employed at Bendix as a machine operator, for over 29 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church, Amherst, and attended Calvary Chapel, in FL. He was also a former member of the VFW Post 451. Stanley enjoyed traveling, fishing, and gardening. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family. He is survived by his sons; Stanley R., of Amherst, Paul, of Berlin Heights, Richard, of Spencer, and Daniel, of Rochester, MI, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a brother, Alex Savastuk, of Lorain, and a sister, Ann Akers, of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 31 years, Constance F. (nee Field), in 1978, second wife, Ruth F. (nee Fitzpatrick), in 2003, a daughter, Linda Simo, in 2009, brothers; Ted and Edward Bansek, and John Savastuk, sisters; Mary, Ester, and Stella, and his parents; Roch and Alexandra (nee Seroka) Banasiak. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 5, from 5-8 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 am, at Foursquare Gospel Church, 780 E. Cooper Foster Park Rd, Amherst. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. Full military honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign War Post #451 combined with the American Legion. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory, may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
